Are you serious about your photography?
Do you see yourself as an artist who uses a camera? It’s OK to struggle creatively… that’s what we’re here to learn. Do you have a firm grasp on your technique? Perfection is not required, nor encouraged. Mistakes often lead us to deeper and more profound growth. We learn though experimentation, exploration, discussion and collaboration! Advanced Photography is a journey of creativity and expression, with a group of dedicated photographers who share your passion! Learn through inspiring lectures & speakers, challenging assignments and critical review of your work. Dedicated film and digital photographers welcome!
Photographic Metaphors.
A picture is a collection of shapes, lines, light and form. It can record history and what is found before the lens. A photograph may be much more… capturing the essence of the subject, motivating the viewer and sharing the emotions of the photographer. Great photos may be more than meets the eye. Advanced Photography will move your shooting to a newer and deeper level.
Each photograph is a metaphor - It speaks about the subject and the photographer. Freeman Patterson tells us “The camera always points both ways. It reveals the subject and the photographer.” Are you ready to reveal your self thru your photography? Are you prepared to awaken your artistic self or nurture the creative photographer inside of you? Advanced class will challenge you to use your camera to say more.
Inspired by Richard Garrod’s book Visual Metaphors, Advanced Photography 2010 will encourage you to create and present a collection of your images which tell your story and share your feelings. Be prepared for personal exploration and revelation thru your photographs.
